Kamea sees herself as worthless, ugly, and unloved. When she accepts the help of the One and Only and enters into the Kingdom of Light she has a lot to learn. It is not easy for Kamea to change from her old self into what she is meant to be.
This story, inspired by the Word of God, is truly a work of art that brings glory to God, the King. This story is an encouragement to Christians - it teaches God's value of His children and His forgiveness and loving correction through all mistakes. It also represents God's love and desire to rescue all people, including those who refuse to accept His gift of salvation.
This book was a great short read. It held my interest and also painted a clear picture of God's love for his children. I would recommend this book to my family and friends.
We all face struggles. We all have wounds. Kamea brings a message of strength and healing that anyone can relate to. Kamea's story challenges the reader to think beyond difficulties and to imagine possibilities. Well written and very intriguing!
Kamea is a captivating and compelling short read with a long-term impact on your perspective and focus. It is set in Medieval times but spans the ages with the scenes and images it evokes in your senses. It takes you on a journey of self-discovery, involving self-image and self-worth, that is applicable to all of us.
If you have Bible background you'll recognize phrases and concepts; If you don't have that background you'll be introduced to God's word in a very different way that is clear and concise. Although the book is written to appeal to tween through adult women it is universally applicable across age and gender. You can be confident in giving this to a young person as there is nothing inappropriate in the subject matter or choice of words. This is a story about strength and hope and truth and love. May your hope be strengthened by the truth and love it reveals.
Good and evil exist. Jeri Howe knows how to get that truth out. I would recommend this book to anyone. It is a story of love and forgiveness from only God.

Jeri uses scripture in Kamea in a medevil fantasy kind of way to direct you to see yourself through God's eyes. I think it is an excellent book for any age... especially tweens and up.
